Purederm Snail Age Regenerating Multi-step Treatment 3D Mask ♥ Review!

3D Masks

Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to give you a review on the Snail Age Regenerating Multi-step Treatment 3D Mask! It’s a unique sheet mask that I found while shopping at Forever 21, but you can also find it online!

When I saw this at the store, I was drawn to it for three reasons.

  1. It’s a Korean sheet mask that I was able to purchase inexpensively in stores rather than buying online and waiting for my order to ship.
  2. I was really curious about what they meant by calling it a 3D mask.
  3. It’s a multi-step treatment! Not only do you get a sheet mask in one pack, but you also get an “age regenerating” ampoule!

Here’s what the packaging says about the treatment:

♥Purederm Age Regenerating Multi-step Treatment, containing Age Regenerating Ampoule(Step 1)&Snail 3-Dimensional Mask(Step 2), is an innovative 2-step skin regenerative program that combines the benefits of a skin ampoule and facial mask for maximum treatment results.

Sounds cool! Let’s take a closer look at some of the ingredients.

Directions and Ingredients

First, the Age Regenerating Ampoule. Some of the highlights in the ingredients to point out are cetearyl olivate/sorbitan olivate, Camellia sinensis leaf extract and portulaca oleracea extract.

Cetearyl olivate/sorbitan olivate. These two ingredients are naturally derived from olive oil. They help reduce skin water loss in order to keep the skin moisturized.

Camellia sinensis leaf extract is commonly known as green tea extract! Green tea extract has anti-inflammatory properties. It also calms redness and irritation (that’s only a few of the endless skin and health benefits that green tea provides!).

Portulaca oleracea extract is a plant extract with anti-inflammatory properties. It also provides the skin with moisturizing and anti-aging effects.

Now, let’s look at a few ingredients in the 3D mask. Some of the highlights to point out are snail secretion filtrate, sodium hyaluronate and illicium verum fruit extract.

Snail Secretion Filtrate, otherwise known as the trail that a snail leaves behind as they move. Kind of a weird ingredient, but very popular due to it’s skin benefits. Snail secretion filtrate is known to provide anti-aging effects, as well as reduce fine lines, wrinkles and hydrate the skin. There are tons of snail-related beauty products, and many people have seen great results using them! Through research, I read that the snail secretion filtrate used in these products is picked up in a “snail-friendly environment”. That put me a little more at ease about having bought this mask. I have yet to find any information about snails being harmed for the ingredient. If you’re still iffy about it, there are plenty of other sheet masks to enjoy!

Sodium hyaluronate is a sister/smaller molecule to hyaluronic acid that helps your skin effectively absorb water and stay plump + hydrated. This ingredient minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making your skin look younger!

Illicium verum fruit extract, commonly known as anise! I chose to point out this ingredient because my mom has been using anise to make her own home-made facial treatments lately! Anise helps detoxify your skin and calm down redness, acne, blemishes and more. Anise will help your skin look and stay healthy and glowing with all of the skin benefits it provides!

Okay, now that we know about the benefits of a few key ingredients, let’s try it!

Before using the treatment, I made sure to thoroughly cleanse my face. On the directions, it says to cleanse and tone. I did not apply any products after cleansing for the sake of this review.

♥Step 1: Age Regenerating Ampoule.

Step 1

The ampoule is a cloudy, gel like consistency. The packet came with enough to apply evenly all over my face as well as neck. It immediately has a slight cooling effect. The ampoule felt slightly sticky at first, but it did not leave my skin feeling sticky once it was thoroughly patted on. It has a florally perfume scent which personally did not bother me. Something that I did not like about it was the light alcohol scent it had when first applied to the skin. Fortunately, this faded away quickly.

Essence

Okay, now that the ampoule is on, we’re ready to use the mask!

♥Step 2: 3D Mask.

As soon as I took the mask out of the package, it was dripping with essence, which I really appreciate! It has lots of essence for the skin to absorb. Once it’s unfolded, we can see why they call it a 3D mask! It has a seam down the middle to allow the mask to curve along the face, unlike most masks that sit flatly on top of the face. It also has a sort of “chin pocket” so that the mask can curve under the chin.

Since the mask is 3D, the directions say to put it on in this order: chin, forehead, nose, mouth, and leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

Mask Seam

Here, you can see the seam of the mask!

The mask curves under the chin as well!

Immediately when applied, the mask has a very cooling effect! It felt so nice! The cooling feeling was much stronger than the ampoule. The fragrance is just like the ampoule, however it’s much lighter and it did not have any sort of alcohol scent.

The mask is quite thin and it adheres to the skin very nicely due to it’s 3D shape. I was walking around and doing chores while wearing it and I did not have any problems with it slipping off, even though I was looking down every now and then.

Once I removed the mask, the leftover essence felt very light and moisturizing. I found that the mask immediately left my skin feeling smooth and silky. It also gave me a glowing, dewy look! Prior to using the mask, I had actually been neglecting my skin care routine a bit, so my skin had been looking a little dull. The mask definitely helped make my skin look healthier! It’s also important to note that the skin underneath my eyes is very sensitive. Thankfully, this mask did not irritate my under-eye area. If you have sensitive skin, this mask could be worth a try!

Hours later, I can still feel the essence on my skin. I love this because I would normally use a sheet mask before bed. In my opinion, the longer I can keep the product on my skin at night, the better!

Final Thoughts

Pros:

♥It’s inexpensive while being a 2-step treatment at the same time.

The 3D shape really helps to keep it from slipping off.

It leaves skin feeling smooth, soft and healthy looking.

♥My skin loved it! It did not leave my face feeling itchy or irritated.

Cons:

The fragrance may put some people off. If you’re sensitive to smells, you may not like it.

I was disappointed with the alcohol scent while applying the ampoule (although it quickly went away)

The mask only comes in one size, so it may not fit everyone perfectly.

Overall, I really enjoyed using this mask! I would recommend it! So, what do you think of it? Would you try it, or have you tried it before? Let me know!

If you’d like to purchase or at look this mask, you can find a pack of 3 treatments here, or a pack of 6 treatments here! You can also possibly find it in Forever 21 (where I got it). I purchased one treatment for $2.90 in store. A bit more expensive than online, but still inexpensive for getting it quickly and testing it out! Nowadays, sometimes I see it there and sometimes I don’t!

p.s. Thank you so sooo much for reading! I hope you enjoyed my second review!

As a disclaimer, I am not a professional. Everything I wrote about the treatment’s ingredients was learned through research! I purchased this treatment for personal use and I was not paid to say any of this
